Big favor!

This weekend we found out some sad/maddening/ridiculous news. Our lovely little downtown apartment is getting sold, hence the rent is being jacked up in price to make it sell, (so the buyers think there is a lot of profit to make). Our apartment is old..charming..but old, and is not worth what they want to price it as, so we have made the decision to move. I have been emotional all weekend, I love my apartment!

Anyway, we need a favor, if anyone has any good leads for us we would be incredibly grateful. We are trying to stay downtown, but are open to suggestions. If anyone (even those who shy away from commenting) know of any good apartments. We would be so thankful. Heck, I would even bake you a cake if you could help us find something. We have to be out of our apartment November 1st. Yes, that's right, right before the holidays. Any leads would help out so much. Thank you!

Italian pizza in SLC

We finally tried Settebello last night. So tasty, and so authentic. If you haven't tried it you should definitely go. It's a little pricey, so we lucked out since they are participating in the Dine-a-Round. We enjoyed salad, margherita pizza, and gelato for $15.00 If you haven't tried it, now is a good time to go. YUM!

Spooky Treats

I made these a couple years back on Halloween. They were a major hit. They are peanut butter too so you can't go wrong there. I will post the recipe when I make them. But I think I will try my hand at these witches and ghosts too. I am getting so excited for Halloween!

Only Mickey Mouse is welcome at my house.

When I got home last night Bob had cleaned the entire kitchen. Which was an awesome surprise. Then he told me he had one more surprise for me. He said that he found a mouse under the fridge. To which I replied with jumping 3 feet and screaming onto the bed. He looked at me bewildered and told me he thought I would think the mouse was cute and I hoped he hadn't killed it. Bob, I said.. I do not think that a mangy little disease carrier is cute. No Bob, no. (and then I made a gagging noise and died)

He assured me that in the entire three years he has lived at our apartment this was the first he had seen anything, and there wasn't any mouse poop anywhere and he swept the entire apartment. I asked him if it was going to come back and get caught in my hair or anything like I had seen in Indiana Jones. I think Bob was a little annoyed.

Alien Abduction

An alien invaded my body yesterday. You always hear about this on t.v. and a guy with no teeth and suspenders is telling the story. Well today I am telling you that an alien took over my body.

My only evidence is that yesterday I woke up at 5:00 a.m. (THAT'S RIGHT I SAID FIVE A.M.) Went into my kitchen and ate Cream of Wheat (shocking considering all I usually have for breakfast is a Diet and rhymes with Poke) then I filled up my water bottle (with water) and changed into my gym clothes and headed for the gym. Not only did I go to the gym, but I actually worked out. (I can tell because I am mighty sore today.)

After the gym I went home, showered, did my hair and put on makeup. Usually I struggle to even open my eyes before I go to work, let alone put mascara on them. But it doesn't stop there. For the rest of the day I ate healthy, drank tons of water and even got to bed by 9:00 p.m. I don't think that's happened since I was ten.

So I told the alien to feel free to invade my body whenever it felt like it. But when I woke up today the alarm clock said 7:30 and I rushed to work with my hair pulled up, not a stitch of makeup and a diet coke in hand. So if any of you kooky early risers have an alien you want to recommend or send my way..

Another busy weekend

Since Bob and I were already in Sandy on Saturday helping friends out we decided to swing by and kidnap my mom and my nieces who were there. We took them to the Mayan. The girls loved the divers. The food was actually pretty good. Then after Eric met us at the Megaplex and the three of us went to see Ghost Town (really funny movie) and then back to Eric's house to eat yummy pie and hang out. Bob and I also went long boarding in the city, I am actually getting better. Shocker of the world. Fun weekend, just wish it lasted a bit longer.

(Poor Jess fell off her bike and hurt her cute little nose. Bob kept calling her Rudolf, it's a good thing she knows Bob's a teaser and doesn't mean it)

(Bob hates that I take so many pictures so in an effort to thwart me, he does stupid things like this, apparently he is a fish in this picture)

Birthday fun

Friday night a couple of us celebrated my sisters birthday. We ate yummy food, unless you talk to Kim who isn't a Thai fan, and was gagging at most of the things on the table. Then to Village Inn for some birthday pie and laughter. I realized this was really the only picture I took that night that turned out. Usually I am better, at least we got the birthday girl in a picture.

Oh Happy Day!

Happy Birthday Dal, and Happy Anniversary Lan (and Deb Deb) (Dallas and Alana are two of the most stylish people you will meet)

Little People

Can I just tell you how much I love this website? It is so creative and funny. Two of my favorite things in a blog. It's a whole project where they leave mini hand painted people around London. Check it out..

Gas Station Antics

While I believe running through the sprinklers can be fun when it's spontaneous. I also think it is more fun when it is decided by you... not the sprinkler timer.

When your peaceful morning walk to the gas station (to get your pick-me-up Diet Coke) turns into you scrambling to get out of the freezing cold sprinkler water.. things turn sour for Caity, and of course I am wearing my now H20 speckled glasses.

On a side note it kind of freaked me out that once I dragged me and my sopping wet shoes to the gas station a lady old enough to be my grandma's grandma was getting a Blue Ribbon beer that was bigger than her head. Ah, 9 a.m. beer runs... and believe me, she will be running... through those sprinklers.

Retro

I am loving that Fisher Price is bringing back some of the retro toys I had when I was a little girl. Cheap too. It's pretty smart marketing. Not only will kids want them, but so will the adults. I bought this one as a gift a little while ago, just because I remembered how much I loved mine.

Halloween idea #5

I think classics can be great. I just don't know if I could talk Bob into being toto.

Halloween idea #4

These guys are getting popular enough now that people might actually know who we were. How funny would it be for Bob to be Brett with a goatee, and me as Jermaine, and I could wear the glasses? We could just bring our guitars. Easiest costume ever. Or just lazy?

Halloween idea #3

This could be funny. All I would need is a leather jacket and a blond wig, and bob already has what he calls his intimidaviators.

Halloween idea #2

I really like this idea, because it would be super easy. Bob already has a fake mustache, and I could dress in pink and then wear ears and a tail and paint my nose pink and paint on whiskers.

Halloween idea #1

I am racking my brain for costumes the hub and I can do for Halloween.
Idea #1
He Man and She Ra. I just think it would be hysterical for Bob to wear that blond wig.

Mind Reader

I tell my husband something or at least think I do and then later on I wonder why he doesn't know or do what I thought I told him. I blame him really. How hard is it to read my mind?

Happy Engagement!

So some of you know that I had a brief stint as a missionary. I met three girls in the MTC that I will always consider some of my best friends. Wink (my comp.) Gibbs and Flo (who shared a room with us) There is something about struggling and enduring together that brings you closer. Today (Okay, I knew before this, but it's official today) that my sweet Gibbs is getting married! Congrats girl, I love ya!

This picture is of us in our room at the MTC, not her engagement picture, though that is what it sort of looks like ;)

Celebrity Sighting

I met Matthew Perry last night. I forgot his real name so I kept calling him Chanandler Bong. We talked for a while and he offered me a cigarette, to which I politely refused and then he licked my cheek. Yeah, I think this means we are pretty tight. I may or may not have been dreaming.

Addiction

Confession time. I have an addiction. You know the kind that has you jones-in' for it in the middle of the night? The kind of addiction where you wake up in a cold sweat, and only one thing can help. You will be at a party surrounded by people and all you want to do is sneak out. Well I think it's time I stand up and confess...

My name's Caitlin and I have a box set addiction. It's bad. I have even been known to watch a whole disk in one night. I have even stayed up till the wee hours of the morning watching. My latest I am watching is Brothers and Sisters. I sneak home from work on my lunch hour and eat my lunch whilst I watch. And to me, this is a slice of heaven.

Eric is usually my dealer, but others have been known to get me my fix. My past addictions include and are not limited to..

Yes, I have a problem. But with all this being said, does anyone have any box set recommendations? (I can quit anytime)

The mama to bee.

Went to Alana's baby shower. Ate some awesome food, enjoyed every one's company, and went home with this darling favor. Such a fun night. Good luck Alana and baby, only three weeks to go!

Happy Birthday Brynna!

Ms. Holga goes to the fair.

I had a roll of B&W film left over from our Seattle trip, so I finished it up at the fair. I love how dreamy and old fashioned black and white holga's look, so I decided to change them into a sepia tone to make them look even more old fashioned. It seems to fit, since in my mind the fair seems old time-ish.
