Alex & Courtney's Wedding

On a warm day in June these two got married.

This is my cousin Courtney and her {now} husband Alex.

Everything was beautiful. From the sweet treats to the touches of green.

There was dancing, and celebrating, and happiness.

I was so glad to be a part of this day, and flattered that they trusted me to document it for them.

Congrats Court, it feels like yesterday I was babysitting you. Days ago I was checking you out of school to "moon" passing cars. And minutes ago we were talking to bums.. or was that babes out in alleys? Love you. xo cait

..and they lived happily ever after.

Holli's Baby Shower

This is my dear friend Holli..
Holli is going to have a baby, so we threw her a shower..
Not just any shower, a circus themed shower..
Full of cute details, and fun games..
There was just one hitch. Rain.. a lot of it. We had a tent set up outside. Twinkle lights in the trees, pinwheels, a photo booth, cotton candy, popcorn, and sno-cone machines.. Well you get the idea.

About 30 mins. before the shower started a huge gust of wind came and blew everything.. well everywhere. (The photo booth is currently in the neighbors yard somewhere.)

So we scrambled. With every one's help. Especially my sweet mom who was kind enough to let us throw it at her house. We made due. But it was a bit crowded and pretty bittersweet for me since I had seen it in my head. (And let me tell you it was grand.) That's okay though.. we had a blast..
We played some old fashioned circus games, (which I sadly didn't get pictures of) won prizes, Holli opened her darling gifts. and we took a ton of silly pictures.
And you know what? It was quite the circus.
(On a side note..us girls that hosted, and the guest of honor crashed Village Inn after the shower. We laughed our guts out and reminisced until 2 in the morning. I felt like I was 19 again. Thanks girls!)

Bonnie's Unofficial Shower

My dear friend Bonnie is pregnant again. She didn't want a shower since this is her second baby. So we talked her into just getting together for a little breakfast with just some close friends.

So we had an "unofficial shower" at my apartment this weekend. I set up an informal photo booth, we all brought yummy food, and we just talked, laughed, and relaxed. Thanks to everyone who came, and congratulations Bonnie on the new bun in the oven.

I normally take pictures of all the details, but I got so caught up in the fun of the shower I only took photo booth pictures. That's okay, I think they're pretty hilarious..

Academy Award's Party 2011

(Yes, this is late. Better late than never I suppose.) This year we ended up seeing so many of the best picture nominations, that we thought we should throw a party. We only invited true movie buffs. Everyone chose a best picture nominee to gear their food after. We had Academy Awards bingo, and turned in ballots on who we thought would win. There was a lot of food. A lot of prizes, and a lot of laughter. Especially when my DVR cut off right before they announced the best picture winner. All in all it was a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone who came, and we missed those who couldn't be there.

28

These three little girls belong to some of my dearest friends. They are close in age, and I feel like they all used to be tiny little babies such a short time ago. At my party they were all running around together and I couldn't believe how much they had grown and turned into big girls.

28 was a hard one for me this year. Not because of anything specific, but I think because 28 was the age. The age where I thought I would have my own little one running around. Or if not that, I thought I would be running around in my size six jeans. In shape and running marathons. Or perhaps I thought I would have my very own house.

All these things sprang into my head when I realized I hit an age that I had put expectations on myself. Now let me just say, that I am extremely blessed to be where I am right now, and it's not that I don't love my life how it is, but I think I had to adjust my thinking this year.

And as much as I would love to have my own little peanut, bean, or bug right now, it's just not the right time. I have accepted that. We're working towards it, and I think we're really close, but for right now I am happy to live with my best friend who makes me laugh every single day. Especially tonight when he acted out a 2 minute version of Black Swan that had me laughing until I was crying.

Yep, I think it's safe to say that even though I didn't know I would be here at 28, I am content. And I'm determined to make this my year.

Minute to Win it

My friends helped me celebrate my birthday this year by organizing a rad game of Minute to Win it. We had a blast. Thanks to everyone who came and made it so fun. And thanks to Bonnie and Jon for letting us tear your house apart!

It was alright though, Ella put on her heels and got right to work cleaning up after the chaos.

Everything was perfect from the food..

.. to the company.

I am so blessed to have so many great people in my life. Getting older isn't so bad when you are surrounded by those you love.

The Amazing Race

Eric did an amazing job of putting "The Amazing Race, Bonnie's 30th Birthday Edition" together. If you have never seen the show, it was basically a race around the city where we had to compete in challenges and go to different stops. The player to get to the last pit stop first, won the race. (Which was kind of a tie between team badly dressed Hawaiians and team Jersey Shore.)

All the teams wore matching outfits. We took videos and pictures of us racing. And had a blast. Unfortunately the BobCat team came in almost dead last. But that's okay we looked good doing it.

Thanks to everyone who helped make the race so much fun. And thanks to Bonnie for having a birthday. After the race was over we had cake and watched every one's videos and laughed. My mom even made one of her awesome cakes for the occasion..

It's a llama cake. Or an emu for those of you who don't know the difference. :)
