How we shop in Salt Lake City, Utah..

This week the corner view theme is shopping. A favorite of mine. (and let's be honest most girls)

Living downtown I am surrounded by a lot of great local shopping. If you stroll down Broadway you pass some of the cutest little shops. This one is darling if you peek inside. And if you squint hard enough you can even see my reflection.

* Fun Sale *

Just had so much fun shopping @ Shade and wanted you all to share in the fun too. Not only do they have a sale on selected items for 75% off, but it's free shipping on everything until January 31st. How fun is that!? I just ordered three items for super (duper) cheap. Seriously. Some things are like 5 dollars. Love a good deal. Makes me happy and yellow? I don't know it's still yellow day.

Little help.

Am on the hunt for a lovely new fragrance, for our lovely little apartment. Any suggestions? (p.s. I promise i will post pictures of the "elf apartment" after I do a little more organizing this weekend.)

Shopping in my mind..

If I had extra money to spend for the holiday's, I would gift myself one of these dresses for the holiday parties that are coming..

And would pair it with one of these..

Anthropologie sure knows what I like.. well except this..

I think this was a joke. I'm sorry, but I could find something cuter at the DI and it sure wouldn't cost me $328.00!

Happy (as a clam)

Do you ever catch moments? Last night Bob and I went pants shopping for him and stumbled across a great sale. So we splurged a little and got us a couple of winter items. I got this cute scarf for half off..

and Robert got this warm (and super soft) hoodie..

Anyway, back to the moment. We had worked up an appetite with all that shopping, and even though it was almost nine, we decided to grab some take out and drive back to our apartment. There was an old Postal Service song playing and we drove back to our apartment laughing.

As we walked into our little South Temple apartment, punching our door code, holding our purchases, and greasy take out with a perfect cool (but not too cold) night. I glanced over at Bob and we laughed about something silly and I caught a moment. I was utterly happy. I knew that one day when we had kids and grand kids, I would look back and think of the fun times we had when we were newly married and living downtown with affection.

Then we went up and sat on our bed (since we now don't have any tables to eat on!) and ate our takeout, watched t.v and laughed. I realized last night that I have been doing too much worrying about the move, about responsibilities, and thinking too much about the future instead of enjoying the moment I'm in. These moments are going to disappear and I want to enjoy every single one of them before they do.

So that is my new goal, to enjoy the moments I'm in.

Ja Ja Ja Juicy..

Have to say I love Old Navy's 14.92 sale. I got two darling pair of pants for 30 dollars. If there were a tiny camera hidden in my car this weekend you would have seen me "car dancing" to this song. In celebration of my good deal. (It's a lucky thing there wasn't a camera, since my dancing looks similar to this.)

weekend o' swimming..

I rarely buy swimsuits. Mainly because they can get pretty pricey. (I am convinced they invented the tankini so they could sell the tops and bottoms separately) But I do have to say I am tempted to go to Down East and pick up one of these for our weekend of swimming.

New phone at last...

Forgot how nice it is to have a cell phone... yes this means you can contact me directly at last! On a side note we went to see Iron Man last night and it was pretty good, definitely one to see on the big screen.

Mother's Day Gift Idea

For those of you who can't afford this lil' treasure from Tiffany's for your sweet mom's...

You might try looking at Down East Basics (Sugarhouse was where I saw them) They had pretty locket necklaces that folded out to fit more than one photo inside. For a mere 20 dollars. No mom, and Susan, you are not getting one of these, but for the rest of you who might be stumped on what to get your mom's, I thought I would share an idea. (p.s. the lab where I work prints locket sized photo's)

Online Shopping Debacle

Okay, so some might remember a certain ring that I wanted oh so badly. Well let this be a lesson to us all that online shopping is not always the best route. Now I have a lot of friends who have been successful in their online shopping endeavors. Unfortunately Caity is not so lucky in that department! Maybe it's due to the fact that I am a tall girl that doesn't always fit everything. Perhaps it is because I am too picky. Whatever it is. I believe this might just be the last time I decide to shop via the internet.

I "accidentally" purchased this ring. Yes, accidentally, I am sticking to this. The UPS driver just gave me the package, and when I saw it, I started laughing! IT WAS HIDEOUS! It looks nothing like it did in the picture. It looks like I got it out of a quarter machine. Seriously bad. It really does look like a completely different ring. For as expensive as it was it looks super cheap. (I tried to take a picture to show the difference but they just don't do it justice.) I actually am shocked that J Crew would sell it, I love their stuff.

Just thought I would share my sad lil story with the rest of you, and now I am out the door to return it.

(my momma actually bought the ring for me, bless her heart, either way back to the store it goes!)

Love the Sleeves!

Just found these dresses here at MikaRose
I am loving how more and more dresses have sleeves on them.

Nordstrom Auto Pilot

I innocently left work Friday night feeling so happy that my crazy week was finally over. Before I knew it my car had taken me to Nordstrom Rack! (they were having a 50-75% off sale) So when I spotted these for half off I figured I couldn't pass them up. (Steve Madden shoes are my favorite)

Come home with me lil' ring...

So when I lost my first ten pounds I bought a great necklace from Banana This was the other thing I had my eye on, but since I couldn't buy it in the store, I opted to forgo it and get the necklace (which I LOVE don't get me wrong) But it seems this ring wants to come home with me too. I keep finding myself going to visit it on J Crew's website. It feels like it belongs on my finger. I love it, I can't help it. What's a girl to do?

Weekend Fun

Went shopping this weekend at one of my favorite places (Target). Perused the jewelry, sunglasses, shoes, bags. Such cute cheap stuff. Bought a cute pair of blue plaid flats. Which I must say are super comfortable. Those are my favorite purchases the cheap, fun kind. It drives my husband crazy when I go there, because I have A.D.D., my brain takes me in all directions. "Ooh! Look at that Bob!" "Oh, and this!" "What do you think about these?" His eyes just glaze over and he starts nodding and pushes me out of the store.

Fabulous Shabby Apple

Can I just say how much I love Shabby Apple? The dresses scream style and simplicity, which I love!

Ducky

These are my latest Ikea finds. I have them adorned on my bathroom wall. It's always fun to have bright colors around. They make me happy.

Caity's Weight Loss Program

Last month I was sitting in a class and I had an epiphany. I realized that the way I would be inspired to lose weight would be if I gave myself little rewards for my work. So every ten pounds I lose I get a piece of an outfit. When I reach my goal, I should have a complete outfit, and be looking rockin' in it. So far I have reached my first goal. What did this Banana Republic treasure cost me? Ten pounds baby.
