in 2009 i think i will..

laugh a little more, worry a little less,

and spend more time with those i love.

bring on the new year!

(You can see Robert and I dressed up for the occasion.)

Aubrie's Wedding

We went to Aubrie's wedding dinner last night. We ate yummy food, saw some good friends, and I even got Bob to dance!

(This was the funniest thing I have ever seen! Bob decided to do this ridiculous dance, we had people coming up to us after complimenting him on it.)
Jen did such a great job photographing the wedding. And it was fun to see her outside of work for a change!

It's that time again..

Some enjoy Fantasy Football. They love researching, getting drafting tips, and strategizing. Nobody makes fun of these people. Okay, some people might make fun. But for the most part, it's a way for guys to bond. To feel important.

I prefer the female version of this sort of thing. Some of my friends and I (I won't name names) get together and we draft our picks. We scrutinize the "players" and we okay, I make a chart. Not just any chart, a Bachelor chart.

Each episode we strip the chart of the girl (or player if you prefer) that just didn't cut it. Each episode we get closer and closer to finding which of our picks are going to make it. In the mean time we see a similar thing the guys see. We see players duking it out. We see blood, sweat, tears. And the most important, we see the girl who drinks far too much, cries to the camera and contemplates why she is 35 and not married.

We see the girls steal the ball (the guy) from the others. We see the other girls tackle the ball (the guy) We see the girls make blunders that will go down in Bachelor history. My husband may make fun of my intensity. But to be fair, this is just a girls football game of sorts. So bring it..

That's right. It's time for the Bachelor. And anyone who wants to join the party is invited.

Caity's Apartment

Game Day: January 5th 2009

Game Time: 6:00 p.m. (2 hour episode)

There will be treats served, there will be prizes given. Please be prepared with your top 15 girls. I will be giving out prizes for categories such as:

Which girl do you think will win the 1st impression rose?

Which girl will become the most hysteric when not chosen?

Which girl will drink too much and embarrass herself?

Who will the mean girl be?

So if you feel like joining us on GAME DAY, you're invited. And yes, there will be a chart. But not some flimsy weak sauce chart. NO, this one will be legendary.

Army Angel

I found out something interesting about myself. Wait, let me back up. When we were in Washington we decided we were going to go sledding. But we didn't bring any snow clothes. So Bob's parents were nice enough to let us borrow some of theirs. Bob's dad goes turkey hunting, and fishing and all that outdoorsy stuff. So he wears camouflage. Meaning that I got to dress from head to toe in it.

You think I am kidding, but no. I had the warmest cammo coat, cammo snow pant suspenders. Cammo hood, gloves, and I kid you not, CAMMO BOOTS! You should have seen me. I was having so much fun, and it was all a bit big, so I felt like a huge camouflaged marshmallow.

But the weirdest thing happened. I started talking different. I started asking people to hand me my gun. "My guhhhn." When people called me (Alana can attest to this), I would answer it "Go for Alana." I even think at one point, I asked Michael to drop and give me twenty. I don't know why this happened. I assume it was all the power of the camouflage going to my head. I kept asking people if it was hard to see me, since I was dressed all in cammo.

When I asked Bob, he looked at me, patted my head and said, you are kind of in the wrong camouflage for snow. I don't know what he was talking about. See the picture below. You can only see an outline of an angel huh? Eerie I know.

Oh and I can't resist showing you what my hair looked like by the end of our snow trip. I like to call this my rooster do. Not everyone can pull this off, but I think I did nicely..

Country Christmas

We left our city for Christmas this year and traded it in for a little country. We spent last week in Richland Washington with Bob's family and friends.

We played in the snow..

We exchanged gifts..

We ate. That is an understatement. We ate a lot! (thanks to Dave and Susan, we had a ton of amazing food) I even ate fish and liked it!

Susan showed her rock and roll skills on Guitar Hero..

Dave had the house so festive and bright..

and Mike entertained us..

(If you look closely you can see that Mike willingly directed his sled down a steep hill and landed himself in some bushes. He ended up with a really swollen ankle, but a really funny YOUTUBE video.)

And what trip to the country would be complete without a trip to the gun shop. I told Bob I wanted to take a picture with a big gun, but he told me I better just pose underneath all the animals on the wall. (please note the guns and ammo behind me though)

We had a great Christmas. Thanks Dave and Susan!

We Wish You A Merry Christmas Eve!

Okay, this is mainly what we're doing.

(I apologize in advance for how ridiculously swollen I look. The Selle's have cats, and I am a tad allergic.)

Merry Christmas!

I have been filling out Christmas cards for the past week. Been addressing, stamping, gluing, taping, etc.. until my hands hurt. What I realize is that I have an amazing family and some of the greatest friends. I have been lucky to make new friends this year, and stay close with those I have had for ages. I just thank my lucky stars for such great people that fill up my life.

I have two sets of parents who take such good care of my husband and me. Siblings that make me laugh. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews who make me happy. And to top it off the best husband a girl could wish for. I guess I realize that I am very blessed and wanted to thank every one in my life for being a big part of what makes me happy and fulfilled.

Happy Christmas to everyone, I hope it is filled with love, family, friends, and the true meaning of Christmas.

xo, Caitlin

(I am off to Washington next week, so there may be a few scattered posts, but I am going to try to mainly focus on enjoying Christmas. Hope everyone has a great holiday!)

Irrational Dreamer..

I am going to tell you something that is shocking. Ready? I'm a girl. Not shocking? What about this? As a girl it is pretty typical to be a tad emotional. Not feeling shocked? At certain times of the month some girls (namely me) get ultra emotional. Shocked yet? No? Okay, okay. None of this is a big surprise. But does help explain some of my irrational behavior..

I had a dream last night about how my husband decided he was going to go to Las Vegas with two gorgeous girls in swimsuits and was making me go to Arizona with my mom. Why Arizona? It's a dream, I can't explain my subconscious.

In the dream Bob and I were in high school together and I was having the hardest time finding my classes. None of my homework was finished, and I am pretty sure my fellow classmates had lampshades for heads.

Yes, I understand this was a dream, but when I woke up I smacked Bob and said I was really upset with him. When he asked why, I told him it was because he went to Las Vegas with two tramps. He groggily scratched his head, quickly realized I wasn't fully awake. And being an astute husband remembered what time of the month it was. Simply stated, I'm really sorry, I won't do it again.

I happily turned over and went back to sleep.

Christmas with the Selle's

Am getting super excited to see these three..

(this picture cracks me up, it looks like they are in the mafia or something)

This will be the very first year I celebrate Christmas (in person.. minus the web cam) with Bob's family. I am excited for new traditions and fun. You can't go to the Selle household without feeling welcome (and very well fed). Plus, they are fellow Diet Coke addicts and there is always a vast supply!

Aubrie's Bridals

Could it have been any colder Sunday? Aubrie and her mom were such troopers! We took some photographs in her grandmother's old wedding dress that she will wear for the ceremony and then she changed into the dress she will wear at the reception dinner. She looked gorgeous!

Another weekend..

This weekend we were able to meet sweet lil' London Ciel Swenson. She melted my heart the instant I laid eyes on her..

Also this weekend was Bob's birthday. As per his request I didn't get to snap very many pictures. He said since it was his birthday I was only allowed a minimal amount..

One of his presents was a nerf gun with protective goggles..

It was nice to have a fun, relaxing weekend full of family and friends. And best of all, hanging out with my favorite person.
