Drawing was never my forte.

A little while ago I was at a doctors appointment and Bob came with me. While I was filling out forms, he was playing on his phone. (We have phones that are also palm pilots) When I got finished I glanced over at what he was doing. He had turned this photo..

Into these..

I was cracking up. Not only are they super creative, but if I had a sketch pad and 5 hours, I wouldn't be able to create anything close to this! I think Bob missed his calling in life. I guess this explains why I can never win Pictionary unless I'm on Bob's team.

I always blamed those stupid little pencils.

Memorial Day Weekend Campout

Eric threw together a great camping trip for Memorial Day Weekend. And as you can see it was testosterone filled. The BobCat got to hang out with all the Johnson Bro's. Who were all a riot and incredibly nice. Even the adopted Johnson brother R. Gnome attended the camp out..

Did it rain? Yes. Yes it did. Did that stop us from having a fun time? Um, no. Not even close. What did we do?

We fished..

Wait, Caity.. is that your very own pink fishing pole? Yep.. meet Tina.

You may be a little skeptical about a pink pole.. I mean does it really catch anything? The answer is yes, I caught a couple of very interesting things..

The reservoir we camped by was gorgeous. This is what it looked like the first couple of days..

..and then the sun showed up and it looked like this as we left..

After fishing we decided to visit this place..

Turns out the Little Grand Canyon isn't so little..

The next day it cleared up so we headed to Goblin Valley..

While the rest of us climbed around, Eric came face to face with the boulder from Indiana Jones..

Then we drove to Little Wild Horse. I had never been, and was blown away by how pretty the slot canyon was. Next time you're in Southern Utah I would definitely recommend it.. but there were localized storms and since there is always a risk of flash floods we were pretty much the only people there. (Got to have a little adventure right?)

This is Eric and me trying to illustrate how it was a tad sketchy..

Did I mention it was a slot canyon, and did I mention I am extremely claustrophobic? We got to this point in the trail and I got a little skeerred. So Bob was nice enough to stay back with me and he even made me feel better by defacing a rock with our initials.. (kidding.. there was no defacing it rubbed right off)

There were many cookies eaten.. many tinfoil dinners cooked and many marshmallows roasted. Thanks to all the guys who kept me well fed and the fire going so I didn't freeze..

I had so much fun with these boys and can't wait to do it again soon. (I'll supply the homemade oreos!)

Did I mention Bob's Bronco was brought back from the dead? Bob and I were pretty happy to have our camping mobile back.

Even though the weekend started with this..

We ended up with this..

And I was able to hang out with some of my favorite people..

So that's our camp out.. what did you do?

Corner View {Salt Lake City, Utah}

The Corner View theme this week is "City Scape's". After living in a downtown city atmosphere for almost three years now, I can't imagine living anywhere else. I feel spoiled that I can be surrounded with the gorgeous buildings in minutes. So last night I took a drive down Main Street and ended up with this shot.

Love will keep us together..

When driving in close quarters for 2+ hours.. you can bet bouts of singing will occur. (Whether you want it to or not.)

I will post the pictures from our trip soon. In the mean time.. this is a video from our day trip to Little Grand Canyon (found out it's not so little). It rained all day, but we still managed to have a ton of fun. (Sorry the camera was so shaky.)

Happy Montuesday! (For a definition of that word visit my fellow campers blog post by clicking here)

While taking Courtney's graduation photo's I thought it would be fun to take advantage of having a model at my disposal and go shoot some more stuff she obviously wouldn't use for an announcement. I loved the idea of telling a story of a ballerina walking all around the city doing the day to day stuff. So we went to the little laundromat around the corner from my apartment. You can imagine we got some weird looks. Hey, Ballerina's do laundry too.

I would love to do a bunch of these series and put them in a book.. Courtney, how do you feel about heading to the dentist in your tutu? :)

Courtney's Graduation Photo's

This past weekend I shot Courtney's graduation photo's. I seriously can't believe I used to babysit this gorgeous young woman. I am in denial that I'm aging. Thanks so much to Bonnie and Jon for letting me use your awesome camera. And thanks to Kim and Court for the great company and treats. These were a few of my favorite images from the day..

Corner View in Salt Lake City Utah

Corner view's theme this week is "coffee". I don't drink coffee. What I do, do is eat coffee flavored treats. My aunt surprised me with this coffee flavored yummy in honor of this week's corner view.

Since it's all about our corner's though, I figured it would be appropriate to show you the coffee shop on the corner of our street. Literally you could walk there from my house in one minute. I haven't tried their coffee, but their biscotti and hot chocolate is yum! (and yes, I'm a "dunker")

Jane also encouraged us, to answer a few of these questions she put on her blog.

How do you take your coffee? With chocolate.. hold the coffee

French press, percolator, espresso, or other? percolator is a weird word.

These people invite you to sit down and have a cup of coffee with them..

rock n' roll babe

while visiting my cute pregnant friend at the hospital last night, I got all baby hungry and while passing a lady singing sweetly to her baby. I glanced over at bob and said what do you think you'll sing to our baby when we have one? his response? metallica.

(this is his way of keeping me from getting too girly and gushy on him)

Waffles in Space

So much fun this weekend. The food at Bruges was seriously amazing, the man who owns it is the nicest guy. And Star Trek is probably my favorite movie I have seen this year. It just confirms what I already knew. I love J.J. Abrams.

Night out with the girls.

Definition of Girl's Night Out: ( girl's [gurl's] night [nahyt] out [out] )

- a night out with the girl's that includes extreme laughing and "dishing" (and man there was some good stuff last night)

I think there should be a specific day of the week that is the official GNO day. I laughed so hard last night, I'm pretty sure I worked out my abs. Is it sad that is the most I worked out this week? Don't answer that.
