The Amazing Race

Eric did an amazing job of putting "The Amazing Race, Bonnie's 30th Birthday Edition" together. If you have never seen the show, it was basically a race around the city where we had to compete in challenges and go to different stops. The player to get to the last pit stop first, won the race. (Which was kind of a tie between team badly dressed Hawaiians and team Jersey Shore.)

All the teams wore matching outfits. We took videos and pictures of us racing. And had a blast. Unfortunately the BobCat team came in almost dead last. But that's okay we looked good doing it.

Thanks to everyone who helped make the race so much fun. And thanks to Bonnie for having a birthday. After the race was over we had cake and watched every one's videos and laughed. My mom even made one of her awesome cakes for the occasion..

It's a llama cake. Or an emu for those of you who don't know the difference. :)

30 Amazing Years

This weekend we celebrated a dear friend's birthday. We raced all around the city, and even to Mars, but more on our Amazing Race tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Eric and Bob!

Eric and Bob had birthdays last week. This year we decided to throw Eric a surprise birthday dinner. A surprise Guamese birthday dinner. (long story)

We made only traditional dishes from Guam. Which turned out to be kind of a melting pot of food. What was surprising, was that everything was good. Yes, even the spam fried rice.

We also brought an island girl from Guam for Eric to have as his date. (Also a long story.)

We ended his birthday celebration with some plantain birthday cake and the "Happy Birthday" song in Guamese. (Okay, our rendition of it.)

A fun night was had by all. Then later in the week my family celebrated Bob's birthday. And since I think we all know how Bob feels about pictures, I'll keep it short. There was yummy food (I think the third picture proves that.) And my mom made one of her famous themed cakes. A "salmon" cake for Bob the outdoors man.

The first couple weeks of this month have been quite hectic as you can see. Not to mention a bunch of photo shoots thrown into the mix. So this week I am trying to catch up and also trying to get into the Christmas spirit. I started that Sunday by watching "It's a Wonderful Life". No matter how many times I watch that show it makes me cry. I should be back here tomorrow with some Christmasy pictures. Happy (snowy) day!

Eric's Surprise Dinner

As you can see, we are doing one thing to the next. I still haven't had time to go through the pictures from any of it. So in the mean time, here's a picture from Eric's surprise b-day dinner last night. More to come on this as well. Busy, busy. I haven't had a chance to see any other blogs either, so forgive me for neglecting, December is a tad crazy for me. I think I need a nap!

Happy Happy..

Wow, what is it with December birthday's!? There are a lot that's for sure. We celebrated Holli, then Eric, and then London and Bob in the same weekend. They are some of my favorite people, so it was really fun to celebrate with each one of them.

Bob wouldn't hear of any pictures being taken on his birthday, but London obliged. Here are a few from her 1st birthday party..

Birthday Stuff

Tuesday night we celebrated Eric's birthday. We ate with all of the old people at Marie Callender's and then came back for some birthday pie.

Everyone who has the privilege of knowing Eric, knows he is hysterical, kind, and an all around amazing person. I consider myself lucky to be his good friend. Happy Birthday E, we're glad you were born.

(I may have also bought some trick candles. They make birthday's more fun after all.) (You'll have to tilt your head, Bob always tells me to stop turning the camera on it's side, but I always seem to forget.)

The Cake

Let me tell you a story about my friends the Swenson's.

For my birthday back in February they innocently told me they would make a cake for the party. Well we went out to dinner at a nice restaurant, and when it came time for cake, the restaurant brought out this cake.

We all thought it was the restaurant who had made this professional looking cake. I mean after all it was three stacks and was covered in hand shaved chocolate. We were then informed this was the cake the Swenson's brought.

What's more is when Jessica's birthday rolled around I told her I would make her a cake, but told her it wouldn't be the masterpiece that mine was. Would you like to know what she said?

"Oh that cake was no big deal, we just threw it together in 20 minutes." To which I replied.. um yeah right.

So I knew I had to out do the cake they had made, and make a bigger.. more extravagant one. So I made this cake for her birthday. I made six cakes. Two confetti, two strawberry, and two chocolate. It sort of looked like a Neapolitan cake when we sliced it open. I stacked them all together and then frosted all the layers and the top. I also threw on an entire box of Oreos for decoration. It kind of looked like a big, tippy Dr. Suess cake. It might not have looked as professional.. but it was bigger!

When she saw it, she said thanks.. this must have taken you forever.

To which I replied..

"Oh no, only like 20 minutes, it really just made itself." "I actually stood three feet away, and thought it could use some Oreos, so I just nonchalantly flicked them at the cake and they just sort of stuck."

It was a great birthday celebration on Thursday for Jessica, thanks Jess and Gav for letting me tease you about the cake. But next year I expect a 10 layer cake with fireworks and a spinning cake stand. But don't take too much time on it. You know, in between the commercials during Lost or something. :)

Welcome Baby Ella "Jella Bean"

(Baby Ella Burrito shot taken by me with Bon and Jon's digital camera)

Our dear friends Bon and Jon just welcomed the sweetest little babe into the world. I'm addicted. Congrats guys!

Alana and I went out to do a little photo shoot of her this weekend. I shot with Ms. Holga. I needed to make sure she still works so I can take her to San Diego in August. The one scary thing about shooting with film, is I can't make sure I'm getting a good shot until it's developed. Hopefully tomorrow I will have some sweet holga pictures to show you.

Another weekend..

This weekend we were able to meet sweet lil' London Ciel Swenson. She melted my heart the instant I laid eyes on her..

Also this weekend was Bob's birthday. As per his request I didn't get to snap very many pictures. He said since it was his birthday I was only allowed a minimal amount..

One of his presents was a nerf gun with protective goggles..

It was nice to have a fun, relaxing weekend full of family and friends. And best of all, hanging out with my favorite person.

Happy Birthday Jon! (15th)

This Saturday we hung out with some friends and celebrated Jon's birthday. We went to Red Robin and Quantum of Solace. It was so much fun. Oh and I really liked the movie. But how can you go wrong with Daniel Craig?

Happy Birthday Travis and Julie!

I realized I don't have any pictures of Julie. I will have to rectify that!
