Donut Falls

On Saturday we decided to head up and hike Donut Falls. I think everyone in the state of Utah has done this hike except me! Well, there was a snow storm the night before we went and the trail was covered in snow.

We decided to trek through the snow for a while. Jon and Ella were the first to call it quits, then I got about half way up and could barely walk because my stomach was hurting so bad, so that was my cue to get back to the car.

Eric, Bonnie, and Connie decided to "man up" and go the rest of the way, but it turned out we were on a side trail that didn't lead to the falls. So when the snow melts I am determined to go back and finally do the real hike!

The snow and mountains made for amazing scenery all around. It was fun to just get out and do something active. I think next week we will steer clear of the snow though. The funny thing is that all of us had on tennis shoes that were not only not water proof, but also the kind that lets your feet breath. So by the end we all had soaking wet shoes and socks. It still made for a fun adventure.

Great documentation of a fun hike. You sure see sings through that lens that I miss with my eyes!
It was a first to have shlopping wet shoes when we were done. Let's go again when it's dry, and maybe make it to the falls.

It's a gorgeous trail for snow-shoeing. You can rent them at REI for $12. We should go next year.
