Year One

I love that I have an online journal. I love that this is my place to say what I want, and do what I please. I however don't like that I didn't blog when Bob and I first got married. So today I am going to take a trip down memory lane so I can have some tidbits of our life before the blog. On the blog. Did that even make sense?

Anyway, today I am backtracking to our first anniversary. San Fransisco.

It turned out that our friends Bonnie and Jon were going to be in San Fran the week before, and the last day of their trip and the first day of ours, overlapped. So we went to China Town for lunch, and shopping, then to Haight and Ashbury, and ended up at the beach for a bonfire.

Then for the rest of the trip Bob and I just goofed off. We ate really yummy food, and had fun visiting all the touristy spots.

The trip was a blast. The weather was great, and it was such a great way to celebrate our first year married. We have since gone on two more anniversary trips (here and here) and I have come to realize I have the funnest (and funniest) travel companion out there.

Boring.

Last night I had dinner with this cute mama, and this cute mama to be. We were talking about how boring we have gotten. And how tired we get lately. Well I feel like they have excuses. I mean one has a baby. And the other one is pregnant. So it's probably hard to get wild and crazy. But what's my excuse?

I don't have one. I remember I used to be able to stay up until three in the morning and it wouldn't even faze me. And I thought getting dressed up and partying all night was fun. Now it sounds like a chore. It's not like I'm 86 and my joints are hurting. I'm only 27.

So does this mean I will be boring for the rest of my life and continue to get more and more tired and boring the older I get? Because I'm telling you right now that at this rate, I am going to be 30 and trying to make it to the Sizzler for early bird dinners.

Maybe it's time to join a fight club or train to climb Mount Everest? On second thought, that sounds like too much work.. maybe it's time I just embrace the 90 year old in me, and take up needle point. I hear it can get pretty intense with those sharp needles. And I am clumsy enough to make it interesting I'm sure.

Keep on the sunny side of life..

While I am sick of the snow and cold weather. I did appreciate the beautiful drive to work this morning. All of the trees were covered in snow, well everything was covered in snow. And it was pretty. Really pretty.

Yes, I agree. I agree. Grrr, snow. But I am trying to look on the bright side. It's really stunning. The white everywhere, the white in the mountains. Now don't get me wrong, I am excited for warmer weather like you wouldn't believe. But while we don't have it, I thought I would remind myself of the good things that the snow has to offer..

Like with this colder weather, I can still wear bulky clothes that hide the imperfections on my body, that shorts, and thin t-shirts just can't.

And it makes vegging out more fun. Not to mention I can still drink hot chocolate. Curling up in a blanket and watching t.v. is nice. And when the weather is crappy, it doesn't make me feel as guilty spending time reading and watching t.v. instead of doing things a bit more productive. I mean it's not like I can go jogging outside.

Cold weather is my favorite sleeping weather. When I can crawl under a big blanket and it's not hot at all in the room, but the bed is nice and warm, I sleep really well. I am not looking forward to the hot nights that keep me from sleeping. So for now, I am okay with a bit of cold weather.

But once May comes a knockin' the snow better be long gone. Happy snowy Tuesday!

Hoppy Easter Weekend..

This weekend was great. Bob and I spent a lot of time together, and when that happens, it's always great. For Easter we got each other new bedding. High thread count sheets, and memory foam pillows are making for better sleep at the Selle house.

I insisted this year that we have a nice Easter dinner. So Bob smoked up some really yummy chicken and I made a salad and potatoes. Then we found ourselves up late into the night watching the first two Lord of the Rings movies.

This weekend we also finally put together our office. We assembled a desk, a book shelf and a futon. (And when I say we, I mean mostly Bob.) I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend. The sun is shining, which is making it easier to be back at work. Happy Monday!

Easter Candy

A friend and I were talking yesterday about our favorite Easter candy. And how this year we are trying to avoid it, since it's so tempting. This got me thinking about the peanut butter egg fiasco, circa 1991.

My favorite candy is Reese's. And around Easter time they come out with those heavenly Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs. I love them. They are filled with a ton of peanut butter and just a bit of chocolate. (I have always had a thing for peanut butter and chocolate.)

Well one year when I was about eight, one of my aunts forgot my birthday, and to make it up to me, took me to a grocery store and said I could buy a jumbo bag of whatever kind of candy I wanted. Of course I went for the Peanut Butter Eggs. Not even the small one's, the big ones. The eggs that they usually sell individually, are larger than an actual egg, and stuffed to the brim with peanut butter.

I double checked that the whole bag was mine. She confirmed, and I went home to delve in. I am not kidding when I say that by the next morning the entire bag was gone. And I was the sickest I had ever been. I threw up all day long, and ever since, it has haunted me. So when someone offers me one. I politely take just one, and walk away.

I hope you guys have a great Easter! What kind of candy are you going to eat too much of?

Happy Birthday Blog

Today marks the two years I have been blogging. Wow, where does time go? I am so glad I still have a few people reading my blog. It's been quite a year, and I'm happy to have a place to share about it.

Oh and happy April Fools Day! I hope you pull some good pranks. I have never really gotten anyone good. Though in 4th grade I told my friend that a piece of frozen fish was a Popsicle and she believed me, I think she may have even licked it.

Happy April!
