Am sitting, taping up boxes, stacking and storing memories, and treasures away. Piling all of the dusty books I have accumulated into cardboard boxes and sniffling. Yes, I have been weeping. There is something about leaving a "first". This apartment was our first apartment being a married couple. It has seen us through many firsts. Has harbored us through many laughs, and tears. There are many things that I will miss about our little apartment on South Temple. The memories mostly..

-all of the fun get togethers..birthday and Christmas parties, book clubs, friends staying over until the wee hours of the morning. truth or dare games, long talks.

-bob proposing on the roof

-sneaking out on the fire escape to read or talk on the phone with friends (better reception out there)

-our mini leprechaun doors (as Finn calls them)

-THE VIEW! Sitting by the large front window and watching the Mason's bustling in and out of the temple. The passerbys..seeing the fireworks in the city..watching President Hinckley's funeral concession from our window.

-Watching the snow fall.

-The laser pointers provided by Jon.

-Watching movies on our wall with the projector.

Am packing up old mixed tapes, tape players and mission tapes. Yearbooks, concert tickets and old notes passed in middle school. This was where Bob first told me he loved me. It was where we spent our first Valentines Day. (We spread out an indoor picnic on the hardwood floors in the front room. comfortable? no. romantic? you bet.)

Bob has been so good to let me mourn over our little apartment no matter how silly it is. But he gave me a good reminder. We will always have the memories, and the good times will follow us to the new place. We will continue to make more memories there. We get the keys today, let the new memories begin..

I was pretty sad to leave our first apartment too and we didn't have nearly the amount of memories there that you have in yours, so I would be just as sad to leave as you are. Best of luck in the new place... that is exciting that you are getting the keys soon.

Ah, change is hard! You will definitely make new memories though! Take lots of pictures to show your future kiddos!

It's in the aves, it's just really a lot smaller than our apartment now, so we may move in a year if we hate it! I am sure it will be okay.
