People watching just got a whole lot better.

Poor Bob has been really sick for the last week with bronchitis. He felt pretty cooped up, so we took a drive around the park on Saturday and did some people watching. What we didn't know was that we were in for a very big treat.

We were able to see some pretty intense warriors..

I apologize for the poor picture quality, I had to zoom in quite a bit. (I didn't dare get too close for fear of my life.) These guys (I was informed) are serious LARP's (last action role players or something like that) These guys come to the park FULLY decked out in armor from head to toe and carrying their weapons (which were golf clubs wrapped in foam, and cushions for shields)

They have mini wars and if someone hits their arm, they couldn't use it. If their legs were struck they had to hop on the one good leg. If both legs were hit, they got onto their knees. The whole while there was a man in a big black cape and hood that was keeping score.

Um, this was one of the greatest things I have ever witnessed. They are extremely serious, and the best part was they had their girlfriends on the side lines cheering them on. Bob and I just kept exchanging looks of pure joy. We compare this to seeing a three legged dog or a newborn baby with teeth. You just can't help but watch in awe.

I SERIOUSLY think you and Bob should dress up next time and join them. And if you do I will definitely come and cheer you on from the sidelines!

Ha, the funny thing is that we both talked about how funny it would be if we dressed up and just started running at them with our "weapons".. I mean what would they do??

Did you see my hubby in there? And me in my miniskirt cheering him on? He lucked out this time. Last fight he lost both his legs.

[for those you don't know me, I am totally kidding].

Perhaps it was a sequel to Role Models! LARP plays a big part in that movie and this story reminded me of that movie. Ah good times!
