slight change..

it was bugging me that my blog address and title didn't match.. so basically my blog is simply caitlin.. you may see me fiddling around with the header until i find something i like, and then it will become permanent.. just fyi.

Fall Weekend

Friday the hub and I went to Macaroni Grill. Colored on the paper tablecloth with our crayons, ate yummy food and bumped into Brennie. I tried to take one measly picture and this is Bob's lovely smile for it..

You can see that Bob has now turned into a mountain man. He figures since he is in school full time with no job, he can justify growing out his hair and beard, I think it's funny.

Saturday was Aubrie's bridal shower, and I totally spaced taking any pictures. Boo! After the shower it was off to Ikea with Eric. I found darling Christmas wrapping paper, and Eric? Well he purchased one glass, and looked sort of silly carrying it around. Bob met us at Red Robin and we had one of our famous (well famous to us) How I Met Your Red Robin nights. Which really is just us going to Red Robin and then following it up by watching How I Met Your Mother. Then somehow I was talked into watching Deep Impact while we ate our yummy festive sour cream apple pie.

Sunday it was off to the parents to do some laundry and on my way out I even stopped to enjoy the pretty sunset and fall leaves..

My mom made me one of my all time favorite desserts. Peach Buckle (Imagine heaven in your mouth, then add peaches.) While we ate, we played domino's, and by the time my laundry was finished I was far too tired to go home, so it turned into an impromptu sleep over. Which is always fun.. my mom even woke up with me this morning and packed me a little lunch for work.. diet coke included. She wins best mom award.

Why do weekends always whiz by so fast?!

Happy (as a clam)

Do you ever catch moments? Last night Bob and I went pants shopping for him and stumbled across a great sale. So we splurged a little and got us a couple of winter items. I got this cute scarf for half off..

and Robert got this warm (and super soft) hoodie..

Anyway, back to the moment. We had worked up an appetite with all that shopping, and even though it was almost nine, we decided to grab some take out and drive back to our apartment. There was an old Postal Service song playing and we drove back to our apartment laughing.

As we walked into our little South Temple apartment, punching our door code, holding our purchases, and greasy take out with a perfect cool (but not too cold) night. I glanced over at Bob and we laughed about something silly and I caught a moment. I was utterly happy. I knew that one day when we had kids and grand kids, I would look back and think of the fun times we had when we were newly married and living downtown with affection.

Then we went up and sat on our bed (since we now don't have any tables to eat on!) and ate our takeout, watched t.v and laughed. I realized last night that I have been doing too much worrying about the move, about responsibilities, and thinking too much about the future instead of enjoying the moment I'm in. These moments are going to disappear and I want to enjoy every single one of them before they do.

So that is my new goal, to enjoy the moments I'm in.

Crazy Little Thing Called Love.

This is the shirt I'm wearing today. Now if you don't know much about tennis, you might not understand that if you haven't scored any points in a game, they call it LOVE, so you can see my shirt is a little play on words. Because in tennis love means nothing. (no points)

Some people don't get it. I will be talking to someone and they will be staring at my chest, trying to figure out what in the heck my shirt means. (I am giving them the benefit of the doubt.)

So when I went to the gas station one person in particular couldn't grasp the shirts concept no matter how hard I tried to explain. I had just taken my diet coke up to the counter to be rung up and the cashier man, who had a thick Indian accent (I am trying my hardest not to compare him with a certain Simpson's Character)

Oops, couldn't help it. This is how the conversation went..

Cashier: "You know, love means something."

Me: blank stare. (not understanding why he was bringing up the complex subject of love with a complete stranger)

Cashier: (staring at my chest) "Your shirt, doesn't make sense, love means something."

Me: light bulb flashing over my head. "Oh, not in tennis though."

Cashier: "Oh, you're in love with a tennis player?" "He broke your heart?"

Me: "No, in tennis if you don't score it means nothing and they call it love."

Cashier: (winking and raising an eyebrow) "Oh I see, you scored with a tennis player."

Me: wondering how this short trip to the gas station had taken such a bizarre turn, mumbled "Have a good day!"

Leaving the man at the counter puzzled and probably interested in taking up tennis.

Sick Day

It's no secret I loathe Tuesday's. But today it's a million times worse because my nose has the sniffles, my throat is torturing me, and my whole body is screaming with body aches. So I am being blog lazy today and thought I would share some posts that made me happy recently..

-Eric put some things On Notice!
-Elle Belle was born! And has the biggest Brown Eyes.
-Realized I am not nearly as creative as Heather and Bonnie's family!
-Picked me up one of these and can't wait to see it.
-Two words..Dress up
-Cherise said the nicest thing. (so did Kim, but her blog is on private, so I can't link you to it)

Hope to be feeling back to my normal self tomorrow.

Weekend Highlights..

-Girls night with Lindsey. Strolled some galleries, talked, and ate yummy food at the Tin Angel.

-Spent time with my parents, played dominoes, and tried smoked salmon for the first time.

-Started moving stuff out of our apartment. Said goodbye to my lovely round table and chairs. (my parents are nice enough to help us store it until we have room)

-Hung up the "gay pride" birthday balloons.

-Spent some much needed time with the hub.
-Even watched a little Felicity while folding laundry.
Enjoyed the weekend, but woke up this morning with a really bad sore throat, and am feeling a cold coming on. Happy Monday indeed.
