i heart music

all music. seriously. okay, maybe not death metal, but i love a variety. i can usually find something i like in every genre. in fact when bob started dating me he would laugh when we were in my car. because one minute i would be tapping my fingers to frank sinatra and the next i would be rocking out to britney spears.

my latest music addiction is Zooey Deshanel's album She & Him (click here for a sample)

(p.s. thanks to the selle's for giving me ipod speakers for my b-day.. now i can actually listen to music at work!)

Comfy

Last night I may have been watching a reality show. And it might have been called The Bachelor (the woman tell all) (click here to see my review)

Bob came home from studying, took one look at the t.v. and started making fun of me for watching such a silly show. Then said something like "Don't you want to spend time with your husband? Let's go for a walk." (he didn't think I would be willing to be ripped away from the reality t.v... but he underestimates me.. okay, okay I may have been slightly more willing to walk away since I now have TIVO magic.

So we took a walk and when it started raining we stopped to talk on the porch. It got me thinking about how comfortable I am when I am with Robert. How easy it is to just be with him. It also got me thinking about other things that I find comfort in. I decided to jot a few down while it was fresh on my mind..

{comfort..}

-My Delta hoodie. Stains on the arms, ragged, but oh so comfortable. (It used to be blue, but is now just a mud color)

-Laying on the couch with my feet on Bob's lap while we chat about everything and nothing, and while the t.v. is playing softly in the background.

-Playing domino's and rook with my parents until way too late in the night. Listening to my parents chatter on about stuff and feeling like I never left home to get married.

-A hot bath with my book..staying in until I'm prune-ish.

-Sneaking into the kitchen late at night, grabbing a couple oreos with milk and snacking all by myself in the dark.

-Grabbing Cafe Rio, curling up in bed with as many blankets and pillows as I can find and watching my latest box set addiction.

After thinking about what I define as comfort.. it made me really want to know what comfort is to everyone else. So please indulge me and fill me in on what comfort is to you..

Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory

Bob and I have found a new t.v. obsession. Of course we love Flight of the Conchords, but since we don't have HBO, we have a harder time watching it regularly. My new favorite show on t.v. is (MTV's) Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory. (click to see a clip)

He is a pro skate boarder. He used to have a show called Rob and Big, but this one is even better. Not only is he one of the funniest guys, but he does cool tricks, hangs out with cool people and has THE cutest dogs in existence. One can even skateboard. Seriously watch this show. So funny!

Spring Fever

My favorite thing from this weekend?

SUNSHINE! (finally!)

I even drove with my windows down.

I needed a weekend like this. Do you ever feel like when it's winter that you are living in a dark cave? It usually doesn't start to really bug me until mid February, and then I'm done.

Bob and I started out our weekend by deep cleaning our apartment which meant our side door was open so we could feel the cool breeze. Which also means that our interesting next door neighbors were out and we could observe the oddities.

(What's that? We have weird neighbors at our new place too? Um, yes... yes we do. Oh boy we do.)

Imagine (if you will) that guy in suspenders that you see on t.v. describing the aliens that abducted him. And the lady with crazy straw hair that holds a pitch fork.

These.. um.. hill billi--er neighbors of ours have this car that they pull up right outside our door that has about 40 axe markings on the hood. Yes, these people have an ax that they swing into the hood of their car. (Better the car, than unsuspecting neighbors)

Well they were out smoking on the hood of their car, and they had a bright idea to grab some couches that have been out by the dumpster for as long as we have lived there. I'm not kidding when I say these couches have been snowed and rained on, are filthy from the garbage and smell like stale bananas. They grabbed the couches and had their friends come and visit them in an enormous trailer that they parked out in front of our apt. and they all had a party.

They were out on those couches smoking until that night. All the while us getting that nice cool smokey breeze wafting into our apt. And every once in a while I heard a loud banging sound. I have no idea what it was, but I bet you it had something to do with an axe.

At least it made for an interesting day and it was nice to have sunshine for a bit. Hope you all had a nice sunny weekend. Happy Monday!

Thanks Bonnie!

Bonnie made me this little homemade goodie and I have been instructed to post about it. (as a part of this post) It's a cute little round box that has been personalized just for me. I think I will put all of my secret treasures in it that I don't want Bob to find. :) Thanks Bon!

Why I shouldn't eat Cafe Rio before bed..

Paris Hilton appeared to me in a dream last night. She knocked on our door at 7 a.m. I kept telling Bob that it was way too early to have people knocking and "didn't her parents teach her any manners?"

Just goes to show that if anyone wakes me up, I'm going to be grumpy. Even minor celebrities. (I might make an exception for daniel craig though.)

i heart baking

it's so relaxing for me to listen to my ipod and bake. and it doesn't hurt that being the baker i get to lick the bowl when i'm finished.
