random puddles

Today has turned out to be a little random and a little rainy. I like the rain better than I like the snow, so I thought I would put a random little list together..

-I like steamy hot chocolate better than hot apple cider.
-I like to play Monopoly better than Life. (even if Monopoly takes 5 hours longer)

-I like plain buttered toast better than a bagel. (unless the bagel is from New York and shmeared with cream cheese)
-I like peanut butter leaps and bounds more than I like sticky caramel.

-I like pancakes far better than I like french toast. ( I may be the only one)

-I like Cocoa Pebbles better than Fruity.

-I like Daniel Craig better than Sean Connery as James Bond.

-I like children's books better than books for grown ups.

- I like Lavar Burton better in space than I do on earth.

There it is, my random little list for a random rainy Wednesday.

When the fair turns ugly..

I sometimes insist on taking a video after we do things so our kids will know in the future when they watch it. Bob refuses to be a part of it because he thinks I am way too camera happy and he knows it will probably end up on my blog. So I am taking my normal video and something unexpected happened... (make sure you have your sound up)

(I don't know how to rotate this so you can see it right, so you may have to turn your head sideways a bit. Sorry.)

Right after I click off the video Bob insists I walk a little faster. I couldn't stop laughing. It cracked me up when I watched it again, because I click it off so quickly. I made it seem like we were in the middle of a gang fight or something. Our kids are going to think we are the coolest!

Sometimes sounding it out doesn't work..

As we were walking out of the fair Bob spotted this sign. Do you see anything wrong?

Take a closer look.

Are they trying to tell us we will find $50.00?

Oh the Fair!

Love the Fair! (we kept saying while we were walking around) We love the smells, the food, the screams of joy coming from the kids on the rides.

(this one had me screaming, more because it kind of hurt!)

We even watched some of the rodeo. Bob's favorite was the sky divers (of course)

I think all Bob needs for this picture is a cowboy hat, and a piece of straw coming out of his mouth.

Did I mention the food? We ate hot dogs, fries, BBQ corn on the cob and my favorite.. funnel cake!

We had a ton of fun, and are already thinking about going back for the Demo Derby.

Saturday Madness

Saturday was a busy one.. we went to the Pancake House with Eric, Jess, and Gav. Ate some very yummy food. Then Jess and I took off for Park City for some birthday and early Christmas shopping at the outlets.

Then it was off to wish Katie a very Happy Birthday! Followed by a shoe party. (Thanks Lis!) But it doesn't stop there. My nieces Brynna and Jessica came to have a sleepover with us. We went to the park and ate Popsicles. Then it was home for some pizza and Barbie Mariposa. (which I was shocked to find Bob watching with the girls.)

Bob and I even played on the toys with the girls.

It was a busy, but fun day!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Friday we got rid of the boys, and had ourselves a girls night. It was great to get together with the girls from my old singles ward. It helped me remember how much fun we used to have together. Thanks to Ang, Mel, Bon, Bren, and Jess. We had a fabulous dinner. Unfortunately Mel and Ang had to leave early, but the rest of us revisited our youth and watched.. what else?

Yes, we even set up the projector. My neighbors probably thought we were having a dance party with how loud we had it. But we had to rock out. I think Bonnie and I were the most pumped for the 80's music and spandex outfits.

The coolest part was that we totally rocked it old school with the VHS version.

Thanks girls for making it such a fun night!

the "talk"

Well my mom finally sat me down last night and gave me the "talk" no not that "talk" the talk about breasts.. chicken breasts that is.

I am making chicken in my crock pot for this evening. While at her house last night I mentioned I needed to go to the store to buy chicken. She informed me that she had some frozen already, and to just take those.

I meandered into the darkness of the ominous basement to get the chicken out of the downstairs fridge. I slowly pull open the freezer door. What do I see? A live frozen chicken! It still had it's skin and bones! I ran upstairs to report that I think she was confused and that I said I wanted chicken breasts.

Looking at me dryly, she said yes.. (me) "But it has bones. I am not completely naive, I have had chicken with bones and skin, but I was certain she couldn't be serious about putting this chicken in my crock pot. She informed me it would taste better and probably even stay more moist. Plus the meat will naturally fall off the bones easier in the crock pot.

She said it's time I stop using the frozen, boneless, skinless kind because I didn't know what I was missing. So I decided to believe her, since she is one of the best cooks I know, and if you had ever tried anything from her kitchen you would too.

It's good to have moms to keep you informed on the latest goings on about chickens these days. Apparently the new fad is to wear bones and skin.
