[sunday snapshots]

Love these kids.

These guys were my Holga subjects yesterday, if any of the pictures turn out I will post them. Unfortunately there were slight problems with Ms. Holga on her first outing.

Birthday Weekend

This weekend we celebrated Jessica's birthday. Gavin, Jessica, Eric, Bonnie, Jon, Bob, and myself all went mini golfing. Yes, in the 90 degree weather, and yes, we almost melted. Props go to Gavin who sunk two holes in one.

Then we went to lunch and back to Eric's house for a little Wii action. It was Bonnie's first time playing the Wii and it turns out she is the undisputed champion of Wii boxing. She went two rounds with all of us, and won every time!

Bonnie was cool about it though. She didn't get excited or anything..

Jessica was a little tuckered out, so while we were screaming and jumping and punching she was...

While the others played the game Jon and I downed our beers. (Okay, it was cream soda, but Eric gave us these huge steins and when we poured our drinks in them Jon and I thought it was a perfect opportunity to get a Look! We're in a bar drinking, but not really drinking picture)

Happy Birthday Jess! I hope it was a fun 25th!

Happy Birthday Jess and Aimee!

( Jessica is one of those people who loooves birthdays. She even celebrates her birthday week! Last year she wore this ribbon all day long, and we all teased her.)

(Aimee and I never would have met without our husbands. Bob and Sean (Aimee's hub) have been great friends forever. Then when I married Bob, he introduced me to Sean and Aimee and I have loved them ever since. Just wish we could see them more!)

Happy Birthday Jess and Aimee!

weekend o' swimming..

I rarely buy swimsuits. Mainly because they can get pretty pricey. (I am convinced they invented the tankini so they could sell the tops and bottoms separately) But I do have to say I am tempted to go to Down East and pick up one of these for our weekend of swimming.

Word to the wise.

*It's important to remember that when pop cans get really warm and then dropped on the cement, they will explode. So instead of looking straight at the can and trying to catch it, just run in the other direction.

I may or may not have experienced this first hand last night while getting in my car. And I may or may not have gotten completely drenched in cola. (head to my little pinkie toe)

Forcing me to do the three flights of stairs walk of shame, and trying to see through my cola speckled glasses.

All the while Bob just sits there shaking his head and saying "How does this stuff keep happening to you?"

Just For Fun...

Just FYI. Eric and I started an entertainment blog. It's just for fun. It's two points of view on movies, t.v., books, and music. Check it out if ya want. Feel free to comment, disagree, and discuss.
The fun thing is, this blog will be updated frequently because there will be two of us. I will post during the day while I am at work, and Eric will post at night. Y'know more bang for your buck :)

Yes, I think you can dance.

I may be the only one that watches this show. But what can I say? I love dance! This was my favorite performance last night. Click here to watch it. (The girl is from Utah)

Happy Birthday Mikey

Insomnia

What happens when Caity watches scary movies?

She can't sleep.

(and is forced to use legal stimulants to keep her awake at work... seriously didn't I learn after 1408?!)

Lil' Poopsie

Meet Poopsie. This is the trainer baby Bob and I gave Gavin and Jessica when they told us they were preggo. Poopsie is a unisex baby (until they find out what they are having) that poops sugar. He/She enjoys being held and taken everywhere with His/Her parents. I am sure that Poopsie is very happy with his/her new parents... and that they aren't being neglectful at all (ahem Gavin) We wouldn't want sweet lil' Poopsie to be dropped off of any high spots, set on fire, or used for baking purposes. If that were to happen we might have to call the SCPA (sugar/child/protective/agency)

Lemonade Cake

Okay, so I was originally going to make these.. (found here)

Lemonade Cupcakes

white cake mix
3 eggs
8 oz cream cheese, softened
8 oz sour cream
6 oz lemonade concentrate, thawed; reserve 2 T for frosting
Mix together on high for 3 minutes.
Fill muffin tins 3/4 full and bake at 350 degrees for 18-22 minutes.

Frosting:

1 can cream cheese frosting
2 T reserved lemonade from above
Makes 30 cupcakes

But then I realized that I didn't have any cupcake liners. So I used the same recipe and did bundt cake instead. All I had to do was bake it longer. This recipe is so easy and so worth making. It was tasty and great for summer. Next time I make it I think I will put strawberries on top. Definitely a summer treat I would recommend. But I would make them cupcakes because of how rich they are. Enjoy!

jonnie bean shoes

Look here! I have shoes named after me! My dear, dear friend Bonnie has put her amazing talent to good use and is making baby shoes. Here are just a few of these little darlings. Go here to order.

Oh Baby!

**** WE ARE NOT PREGNANT!****

Okay, that being said. Congratulations are in order for the Swenson's! We actually found out a while ago, but have had to be hush hush about it till now. We are so excited for them! This is a picture of us at Ruth's Diner right after they told us.

After we sat down, Jessica told us she had taken a picture she was really proud of and wanted to show us. (Which we thought was a little strange.) Then she pulled out this.

I was a little emotional due to the time of month, and burst out crying. I am just so excited! I want to hold the baby now! It must be baby season.. My sister in law, Alana, and now Jessica are all preggo. I am excited to see all of the sweet babies! Congrats you guys!

Viva La Coldplay

am so tempted... Coldplay concert in Vegas July 19th

Tandem? Who's Tandem?

Got together last night with the MTC girls
(well minus newlywed Flo..dang Idaho!)

We ate Chinese, Wink learned a new word, we got hit on by a nerdy guy in a Bug, talked about good ol' times, each got our cameras out and took a million pictures, laughed until our sides hurt, and realized we don't see each other enough. Love these girls.

Quick Recap

For those of you who missed the Bachelorette last night.. let me give you a quick recap...

Sean turns out to be a mama's boy who has a five bedroom house, a hummer, name brand clothing, and a tanning booth. Why? Because he "always needs the best". (I think he insisted on telling the camera, in hopes that even though he didn't have a shot with Deanna, perhaps another "Blue Grass" girl would come along and be dazzled)

Sean: "I would rather carry a loaded gun, then go home and not have you know how much you mean to me." (I think all of the ABC producers panicked at that comment... "What did he say Bill? He has a loaded gun?")

Deanna: "Blink, blink"

Deanna begs kisses from Graham, and Jesse. (Jeremy is more than happy to kiss her as well as embarrass himself in front of not only Deanna, but the whole country, singing what surely should have been left in the shower)

..and Twilley? Well he dances to the beat of a very different drum.

(Eric, Katy, and I had a lot of fun last night eating brownies and making fun of this sometimes ridiculous show.)

Cheers!

My sister Diana surprised her husband Scott this weekend by renewing their vows. It was just a small affair with their friends. Bob and I went to help things run smoothly. Bob took video of the whole event, and I snapped pictures, decorated, ate some of the tastiest food ever, and even threw a couple bouquets together! (who knew I had a florist hiding in me!?)

I thought up this favor after she told me that she wanted to renew her vows. I think they turned out really cute.

My friend Brenda made this cake for the party. It amazes me how talented that girl is.

About 10 minutes before, Diana told me that I was giving a toast. To which I replied "Um what!?" She informed me since I had made her give a toast at my wedding, she was making me give one. (*note the only difference was I gave her weeks to plan what she wanted to say, and I was given minutes!) So I grabbed my cup of water and stumbled through. I have to say, I am not one of those people who are great with words! All in all it was a fun event.

Camera + Zack = many photo's

After the Father's Day festivities died down, and we were about to leave. I spotted Zack being a little mischievous, and pulled out my camera to catch it.

Once Zack saw my camera he begged us to take pictures. Since Bob, Jack and Hayden were far too busy to take pictures due to their ultimate frisbee thing. Zack and I had a photo shoot. I was only going to take one, but after we took one he kept saying "Can we take just one more?" This went on for quite a few shots. Here are a few..

(we snapped one of Sophia as she walked by with ice cream all over her face)

These last couple he begged Bob to take a picture with him, and in true Bob fashion he made a silly face which drove Zack crazy and made Bob take a "nice" one. Zack is quite the character.
